5 Best Beaches Near Kuala Lumpur For The Ultimate Beach Vacation!

Kuala Lumpur’s geographical location in the equatorial region gifts it with an abundance of beaches to sunbathe and lay back in. And, some of them are even untouched by the mass crowds! If you’re in the middle of the absolute chaos of the city in Kuala Lumpur and want to escape, here are the options you have. Pack your bikinis and sunscreens, ladies! By Shubhanjana Das

1. Tanjung Rhu, Langkawi:

The Tanjung Rhu beach located near the northeast corner of Langkawi is a relatively unexplored beach. The white sand beaches and the clear blue waters are just what you need for a beach vacay. Stay in one of the resorts to have access to a private beach for a completely exclusive experience.

2. Layang-Layang Beach Island, Labuan:

Off the northern coast of Kota Kinabalu in Labuan is the Layang-Layang Beach island, perfect for every kind of tourist, be it the laidback honeymoon couple or the adventure junkie. The island is so isolated that it takes flights operated by MAS wings to reach here. The waters are deep enough for fishermen to not dare venture here and for the corals to be more abundant and untouched. Snorkel, scuba dive, or bird watch, the choice is yours.

3. Rawa Island Beach, Johor:

A four and a half hour ride from Kuala Lumpur and you’ll land yourself in Rawa Island or Pulau Rawa. Well, not before you take the ferry ride from Mersing Jetty to get to Rawa though. But, this heaven of an island makes that worth it. The island is part of the Sultan Iskander Marine Park and has something no other beach or island in the whole country can boast of – the slides. Adventure junkies and water babies, huddle up!

4. Terengganu Beach:

Diving enthusiasts and water babies, Terengannu will surely show a part of how heaven looks like! Bordered by sea on three sides, this beach is a treasure trove of underwater flora and fauna. Terengannu has Redang, Kapas, Perhentian and Tenggol Marine Parks as its many islands and its warm, blue waters are just meant for swimming and of course, diving among the majestic coral reefs.

5. Coral Beach, Pangkor:

If you have chosen Singapore for your honeymoon destination and are struggling to find some privacy in an idyllic setting, let us direct you to Coral Beach in Pangkor. There’s not much but the white sandy beaches and the serene waters along with the sense of being only with each other without anything intervening your special moment, Coral beach isn’t just another ordinary beach. A bus to Lumut followed by a 30-minute ride will take you to Coral Beach where you can spend your days and nights in absolute bliss.
