The world’s largest art museum and our personal favourite – The Louvre in Paris is gearing up to reopen on July 6 according to official reports. By Amitha Ameen
Originally a royal palace, The Louvre Museum is one of the most visited museums in the world. Recently, the Louvre museum announced that it would reopen on July 6, after it had gone into a complete shutdown post a steady increase in Coronavirus cases in France.
An official statement on the museum’s website read: “Our teams are working on measures to ensure the safety of all people on the premises.” The statement also mentioned that although the museum would reopen on July 6, online bookings can be made from June 15 onwards.

On May 28, the French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe announced that the country’s parks and gardens would reopen on May 30 and May 31, respectively. He added that museums would reopen on June 2.
Minister of Culture, Frank Riester on May 29 announced via his twitter account: “State-owned national museums and monuments will reopen from June 2.” The minister also announced that it will be compulsory for all visitors to wear masks while visiting any museum in France.
