Mission Begin Again: Maharashtra Scraps Inter-District E-Pass, Hotels Can Operate At 100% Capacity

Maharashtra has initated new rules under Unlock 4.0's mission begin again; no need for inter-district e-pass for people and goods.

The Maharashtra government has extended its lockdown till September 30, but there is some good news as well. The state, under the new Unlock 4.0’s ‘Mission Begin Again’ has scrapped e-pass for inter-district movement of people and goods along with implementing other relaxed lockdown rules. Because of the rising number of Coronavirus cases in the state, the Maharashtra government has extended the lockdown till September 30. But, under Mission Begin Again the state has introduced a number of relaxations and new guidelines that will be applicable to those areas that are outside the containment zones. In Unlock 4.0, hotels and lodges are now allowed to operate at a 100 per cent capacity. Additionally, e-pass has been scrapped for inter-district movement of people and goods.

Further, private buses and other operators will be allowed to function, no restrictions on outdoor physical activities, non-essential shops will be allowed to operate like before but subject to changes and although work-from-home is encouraged, private offices can function with up to 30 per cent employee strength in offices.

In terms of what is not allowed under Unlock 4.0, all educational institutions will remain closed until September 30. Metro rail and international air travel, public spaces like cinema hall, swimming pools, parks, theatres, bars, and any other large social, religious, political, and sports functions are some of the other activities that will not be allowed under the new rules.

Apart from these new and old directives, the other standard steps to be followed include wearing of face masks, social distancing, capping large gatherings including funerals at 50 people and a fine on spitting in public places.
