So far, there over 14 lakh cases of coronavirus all across the globe, out of which over 10 lakh are still active. Among the most affected countries, as of now, the US stands at the topmost position with over 3 lakh active cases. While various nations are coming across hundreds and thousands of additional cases every day, New Zealand is one country that has managed to record the lowest number of new cases after just one day of mass testing.

Out of 4,098 tests conducted recently, the country as of April 8 recorded 50 new confirmed/probable cases. The number of new cases in New Zealand has declined from 67 to 54 to 50 within a period of just three days.
As of now, the country with a population of million has a total of 1,210 cases of COVID-19, of which 927 are still active, and one death has been recorded to date. These positive results are being viewed across the globe as an attempt to not just curb the growing number of cases but eliminate the virus.

Expressing optimism over improved statistics, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern reportedly not only urged people to stay home but also denied plans of lifting the lockdown anytime soon, even during Easter.
As per further reports, while confirming the fact that the Churches and other places of worship will remain closed, she also encouraged people to used social media and other online platforms to participate in religious activities.

Not only has Ardern taken the lockdown very seriously but has made sure that the rules remain the same for everyone. Setting an example for other cabinets across the globe, she recently demoted her health minister for breaking the law, thereby proving the fact that none in her cabinet is allowed to take the lockdown lightly.

Furthermore, last month she had also gone live on Facebook, straight from her home, in order to check on her people, and take up their queries. The act, which is not a very common site among politicians, garnered lot of praises from all over the world.
