Ever Heard About This Penis-Shaped Island?

The internet is truly a pandora’s box in every sense for one never knows what they might come across. Combine the power of the internet with the insatiable curiosity of a wanderer, and you can find the most bizarre things—a penis-shaped island, for instance! Now that we have your attention, here’s more about this discovery. By Kumar Shree

Let’s all agree that we love Google Maps. After all, the website helps us visit places without getting too lost. Plus, it serves one other purpose too–people keep sharing weird/unusual/never-heard-of location discoveries. This time, 50-year-old Joleen Vultaggio from Detroit, Michigan stumbled upon an island in the Pacific Ocean that takes the trophy for being the weirdest: a penis-shaped island!

Penis-Shaped Island

Vultaggio was trying to search the Trinity Islands when she came across this amusing island. She immediately shared her discovery on Facebook in a group called Google Earth Superfans. She wrote, “I was looking around the Trinity Islands, and it just popped up, and I thought, ‘Wow, that looks like an uncircumcised penis.’”

Since this discovery is fairly new, any information on the island’s settlements is not available yet. But we do know that the Trinity Island of Ouvéa—with a population of 3,400 people—is its nearest settlement.

Now that you know about this island, feel free to check out the discovery for yourself. Just type the coordinates 20°37’37” S 166°18’02” E on Google Maps, choose the satellite view option, and voila!
