The statement declared that Saudi Arabia is suspending travel to and from India, Brazil and Argentina. The statement also mentioned that the ban will be applicable to any person who has travelled to any of the abovementioned countries in the last 14 days before their arrival in the Kingdom. However, passengers with an official government invitation can still visit Saudi Arabia.

It is noteworthy here that both Saudi Arabia and the UAE host a varied number of Indian migrant population.

A few days ago, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) suspended Air India Express flights for 24 hours. The suspension came into effect after the authorities found out that two COVID-19 positive passengers flew into Dubai on August 28 and September 4, respectively via Air India Express flights.

The UAE government has laid out certain rules for passengers flying in from India. According to the orders, every flyer must carry an original COVID-19-negative certificate of an RT-PCR test taken 96 hours prior to entering the UAE.

Hong Kong has also banned Air India flights till October 3 after finding that some passengers on a recent flight tested positive for COVID-19 upon arrival.

Well, this piece of news certainly comes as a setback, especially days after India establishes travel bubbles with several new countries.
