The town of Mszczonow near Warsaw, Poland has now officially opened the world’s deepest swimming pool for visitors. DeepSpot, the pool, is 148-ft deep and is a marvel, to say the least! Filled with 8,000 cubic metres of water, DeepSpot is 5-m deeper than the previous deepest diving pool in the world, the Montegrotto Terme in Italy, which is 42-metres deep.

This pool holds 20 times more water than a usual 25-m pool. Thanks to its incredible depth, the pool can also be used as a training centre for divers.

In fact, DeepSpot is much more than just a regular diving pool. You can say that there’s a whole different world within the world’s deepest diving pool. It has a shipwreck scene, a glass tunnel for those who do not want to dive but still enjoy the wonders of the underwater world, and even some rooms with windows that open up to the pool for an otherworldly experience.

As reported by Gulf Today, DeepSpot’s Director Michal Braszczynski said, “It’s the world’s deepest pool… The pool will also be used by the fire brigade and the army. There are many scenarios for training, and we can also test different equipment.”

With respect to training at the DeepSpot, Przemyslaw Kacprzak, a 39-year-old diving instructor said to Gulf Today, “There are no magnificent fish or coral reefs here so it is no substitute for the sea but it is a good place to learn and to train to dive safely in open water.”

While DeepSpot is currently the world’s deepest diving pool, it will soon be succeeded by the Abyss, an even deeper pool with a depth of 164 ft, which is expected to open next year in Britain.
