It won’t be wrong to say that travel finally returned to its full glory in 2023 after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. And, proving this statement correct is the recently released report that revealed the most Googled tourist destinations of 2023.
According to the ‘Year in Search 2023’ report, Vietnam was the most trending tourist place among Indians, with Goa taking the second spot.
Top ten most Googled places by Indians in 2023
The third, fourth and fifth spots were taken by Bali, Sri Lanka and Thailand, respectively. These tourist destinations are also visa-free for Indians. According to various reports, Vietnam may be the next country to let Indians enter without a visa like Thailand and Sri Lanka, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Apart from Goa, three other Indian tourist places were trending last year, namely — Kashmir, Coorg and Andaman & Nicobar Islands which ranked sixth, seventh and eighth.
The list of most searched tourist places by Indians cannot be complete without trending European destinations. Closing the top 10 were Italy and Switzerland.

With Goa, Bali, Sri Lanka, Italy, Thailand, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands on the list, it is safe to say that Indians have a soft corner for beach destinations.
The list also revealed some of the most trending tourist places across the globe. The Louvre Museum in Paris, France was the most searched museum on Google Maps. Similarly, the beautiful Park Güell in Barcelona, Spain, was the most visited park in the world.
