Looking for punctuality in your flights? Look no further than Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru! KIA has been named the most punctual airport in the world for the third consecutive month, according to a recent report.

The rankings are based on a survey conducted by aviation analytics firm Cirium, which has revealed Bengaluru airport’s spectacular record of on-time departures over the past three months. In July, on-time departures stood at 87.51 percent, rising to 89.66 percent in August, and hitting 88.51 percent in September.

The airport has a wide network of flights, which consists of 88 routes served by 35 airlines, writes News18. Despite handling a staggering 31.91 million travellers in 2022–2023, making it India’s third busiest airport, Kempegodwa International Airport maintains its reputation as the world’s most punctual airport.

According to the report, other airports that make up the top five are Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah (USA), Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and El Dorado International Airport, respectively.

The USA has the largest number of punctual airports in the world, securing 10 of the top 15 spots. India has two airfields in the top 15, the remaining three spots belonging to Norway, Colombia and Qatar. Here are the top 15 most punctual airports in the world, based on data from the last three months:

  3. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, India
  4. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Minnesota, USA
  5. El Dorado International Airport, Bogotá, Colombia
  6. Oslo Airport Gardermoen, Norway
  7. Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, USA
  8. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, USA
  9. Hamad International Airport, Doha, Qatar
  10. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, USA
  11. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, USA
  12. San Diego International Airport, USA
  13. Charlotte Douglas International Airport, USA
  14. San Francisco International Airport, USA
  15. Los Angeles International Airport, USA
