The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday received an interesting proposal from officials at Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) to build a brand new, larger-than-life film city in Noida’s Gautam Buddh Nagar. The officials have even identified a 1,000-acre land that will most likely be the location of the new Noida Film City.

This comes after CM Adityanath on September 18 announced plans of setting up a grand film city bordering Delhi and instructed officials to look for compatible lands in Noida and Greater Noida. “The Yamuna Expressway authority on Sunday sent the proposal to the state government for a film city in an area of 1,000-acre land in Sector 21,” YEIDA’s Officer on Special Duty Shailendra Bhatia told PTI.

The newly identified land seems to be an apt location as it is situated in close proximity to the upcoming international airport in Jewar and is also well connected by road. The new Noida Film City will be around 70 kilometres from Delhi and 150 kilometres from Agra, officials added.

The Noida film city will bring benefits to the region in terms of real estate industry and may also see a surge in job opportunities as well. Here’s hoping we get to see this monumental task taking shape soon!
