The actor duo and the power couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan recently spent some time in their ancestral home — the Pataudi Palace. And pictures from their stay have landed on the internet. We are stumped with the grandeur and beauty of this heritage palace.
Have a look…
Just like a Nawab’s palace is supposed to be, the Pataudi Palace has large halls and lush-green gardens.
The Pataudi Palace, which is situated in Gurgaon, Haryana was built in the early 1900s. It is also known by the name Ibrahim Kothi. The palace also operated as a Neemrana Hotel from the year 2005 to 2014. It was in 2014 that Saif Ali Khan decided to repossess the palace and renovated it.
While Saif and Kareena have been regular visitors at the palace since then, the legendary veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, and her daughter Soha Ali Khan, are regular residents of the palace.
As reported by a popular men’s magazine, the palace has 150 rooms that include seven bedrooms, seven billiard rooms, seven dressing rooms along with large drawing rooms and dining rooms. It was Saif’s grandfather Iftikhar Ali Khan, who envisioned the palace. He wanted the palace to be designed in a colonial mansion style, which was popular in that era. It was designed by Robert Tor Russell, who also owns the credit of designing the iconic Connaught Place building in the capital city.
