As airlines restart operations amid ease in restrictions on flying, Singapore Airlines takes necessary steps to ensure the safety of its customers and provide them with a new journey experience. One such initiative is the introduction of Care Kits for its passengers, which comprises of a face mask, hand sanitiser, and anti-bacterial wipes.

As part of our commitment to ensure that you travel safely, our SIA Group cabin crew members and pilots volunteered their time to pack Care Kits for our passengers,” the airline mentioned on its Facebook page.

As per the airlines’ official website, the safety measures have been divided into four categories i.e. before your flight, at the airport, on-board, upon arrival. Before your flight, you will have to submit a health declaration form, update contact details on the website or on SingaporeAir mobile app, check-in via website or app at the airport, generate mobile boarding pass. The passengers should also check in advance about travel restrictions on IATA Travel Centre and about bookings on COVID-19 Information Centre.

At the airport, the passengers will have to complete their health assessment, and provide details of their travel history, wear a mask all the time, undergo temperature screening before immigration, use hand sanitisers available at check-in and immigration counters and maintain social distancing. The airport has also increased its cleaning frequencies and has started applying long-lasting disinfectants. Same goes for airport lounges as well, where meals served are being cooked with enhanced hygiene measures, and passengers are given complimentary access to over 150 newspapers and magazines via their e-library on SingaporeAir app.

While on-board, the airlines has made it mandatory for its cabin crew to wear masks, goggles while interacting with passengers, gloves while serving meals, and help passengers in case they are not feeling well. All lavatories are being cleaned with the help of manufacturer-approved high-strength disinfectants. Moreover, every aircraft of the Singapore Airlines is equipped with HEPA filters, which remove over 99.9 per cent of the microbes in the air, and cabin air is also refreshed every two to three minutes throughout the flight.

While meal services have been suspended, the airlines will offer snack bags, additional wipes will also be made available upon request. Similarly, while in-flight shopping has been temporarily suspended, one can order online from KrisShop.com and get it delivered at their doorstep. Moreover, other supplies such as headsets, pillows, bed sheets, blankets, etc., are also replaced after every flight, and linens are washed in high temperatures and disinfected as well.

Upon arrival, the passengers will have to submit health declaration, in case they didn’t complete it prior to their flight, use hand sanitisers, maintain distancing, etc.
